Harris County Appraisal District 2023 Budget

Harris Central Appraisal District's (CAD) 2023 operating budget totaled approximately $100 million. These funds support the appraisal of more than two million parcels, property inspections, customer service, information technology systems, appraisal staff, administrative operations, and the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) process. The district is funded by the local taxing entities that rely on HCAD's valuations to calculate property taxes. Total property taxes on all entities totaled $13 billion. The budget for legal counsel, training and other expenses is $3.590 million.
